Halfway Build Open Day

Two homes. One site.

Two homes.
One site.

A rare opportunity to see the difference.

A rare opportunity to see the difference.

Join us for a Halfway Build Open Day that offers something you don’t often get to see – two homes, built side by side, at the same stage of construction.

In fact, this is something we have never done before.

Two homes of similar size, built so closely together – one following our Energy Efficient Home approach, and the other built to the New Zealand Building Code, including the added value features we offer as part of our standard builds.

It’s unlikely we will have this exact opportunity again.

Seeing both homes together, at the same point in the build, makes the differences easier to understand. It allows us to explore building approaches in a practical, real-world way and explain what those differences mean for health, comfort, performance, and running costs once the homes are finished.

Midway through construction is one of the most useful times to understand how a home is being built. At this stage, much of the work that influences how a home will feel and perform is already in place – even though it’s not always visible once the home is finished.

This session allows us to talk through what’s happening during the build and explain how different approaches respond to changing expectations around building performance, comfort, and efficiency – particularly as the New Zealand Building Code continues to evolve.

During this session, you’ll learn about:

  • The differences between an Energy Efficient Home and a standard build

  • How each home is being built and what’s included in each approach

  • Where added features and upgrades come into play

  • How build choices can influence comfort, performance, and running costs over time

While both homes are being built by our team, they represent different approaches. Seeing them side by side helps make it easier to understand how construction choices translate into the finished home – both now and into the future.
