“We love the house, don’t we? We’re enjoying living in it. It’s a fairly constant temperature. I mean it sits at something like 19, 20, 21 degrees just about all the time with no heating and cooling.”

Thank you [Energy Efficient Homes] for our home. It’s warm, dry and the craftsmanship in all areas has exceeded our expectations. We love our fully insulated floor, sunny deck and our windows framing the views perfectly. Our site is a hill site and steep – 20 degree slope which must have caused a few headaches for Whitehouse – this was never evident in their communication with us. Robert helped to ensure we got our passive, sustainable house on the hill without exceeding the budget.

All queries were dealt with professionally and with honesty. We can recommend the design build process as a good way to know upfront what you are in for and also to minimise or eliminate design decisions throughout the build. The team we worked with were great. Friendly and approachable. It was good to have the designer and the builder in the same firm as we knew what was designed could be built.

Ultimately, having now been in our new home for 2 weeks, we are blown away by how warm and comfortable it is; which is all due to the high spec’d insulation and heating technology, and the attention to detail that Energy Efficient Homes incorporate into their builds.

We got on well with Robert and were able to have certainty over the costs from early on, and he was an affordable option. We will be building our next home with them!

[Energy Efficient Homes] have our trust, because when there were problems with the main supplier, they placed our satisfaction above their own profits. They were always honest and transparent. The design and layout of our house became ever more enjoyable over the years. [Energy Efficient Homes] listened to our personal needs and aesthetic preferances and managed to exceed this “feel” of the house. If money was no object, we would hardly want to change anything.

The inside temperature hardly changes. We get used to have the whole house at approx. 21-22 celsius… even the tiled floor in the bathroom feels permanently warm. And we only need a 2000 Watts heater for up to 2 hours in the coldest months (no gas or timber is fired). The house also stays cool during hot days.

We have just passed a year in our new home built by [Energy Efficient Homes]. We are very happy with the end result: the workmanship is great and the house is warm and comfortable. The building process went pretty well and any time there were any problems, WB dealt with them professionally and practically. Robert is very good at finding ways to save you money, while not compromising on quality.
